Cirque du Soleil is partnering with The Light Group for a theatrical nightclub project at Mandalay Bay. Light President Andrew Sasson’s PR executives confirmed this news to me this morning.
“The Cirque-themed nightclub will have a show that’s going to happen in the ceiling, in the walls and on the floor,” Andrew said in a statement provided to me.
There still has been no official statement, denial or confirmation about that story. I’m told, although unable to confirm, that the new Cirque-Light venture will take over the sprawling space of the former — and now shuttered — Rum Jungle.
Cirque founder Guy Laliberte is said to have a personal interest in the expansion into the nightclub area. TLG operates Revolution Lounge for Cirque alongside The Beatles Love showroom at The Mirage.
