Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group (“Cirque du Soleil” or “the Company”) proudly launches the official soundtrack of its latest Big Top touring show, ECHO, on all major streaming platforms today.
On this album, the music of ECHO transcends traditional genres, blending 15 eclectic tracks that draw inspiration from pop, electronic, vocal, and classical influences. Each composition is richly layered, reflecting the complex relationship between humanity and the natural world.
Created by contemporary composers Jade Pybus, Andy Theakstone, and Hugo Montecristo – who is renowned for works like Viva Elvis, Messi10, Drawn to Life, and FUZION – the music and sound design of ECHO are integral to shaping the show’s emotional journey. The music of the show underscores the daring acts taking place on stage, supporting and elevating the jaw-dropping acrobatics of ECHO. These songs play a pivotal role in enhancing the storytelling and creating a powerful experience. In a first for Cirque du Soleil, all of the band also sings live in addition to playing their instruments. Among them are three lead voices, who, along with the rest of the band, weave a vibrant and intricate tapestry of harmonies.
“ECHO has captivated audiences for over a year, quickly establishing itself thanks to its distinct aesthetic, innovative storytelling, and contemporary music. In response to overwhelming requests from our fans to experience the music beyond the live performance, this release demonstrates Cirque du Soleil’s ongoing dedication to deepening our connection with our audience. We are committed to offering new ways for fans to engage with our artistry and bring it into their everyday lives”, stated Anne Belliveau, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.
This new, bespoke soundtrack marks the second release under the global recording agreement between BMG and Cirque du Soleil. Recently, the artistic entertainment company announced that BMG would serve as the label for future Cirque du Soleil albums, manage the company’s publishing catalog, and collaborate on the creation of new songs and releases.
Over the years, Cirque du Soleil has released the music of its shows to an appreciative audience across various physical and digital forms. The impressive existing music catalog now has more than 250 million streams in the US and over 500,000 album equivalents sold in the US alone.
