Cirque du Soleil kicks off the parade of Canadian Olympic heroes

Cirque du Soleil is proud to announce that it is taking part in the Olympic heroes in the streets of Montreal parade to pay tribute to the achievements of Canada’s national team at this year’s Vancouver Games. Organized by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) as part of the festivities highlighting the performance of our amateur athletes, this activity will be held in downtown Montreal on April 23, 2010.

As of 11:30 a.m., the general public is invited to gather along Sainte-Catherine Street and witness a parade featuring an impressive number of athletes from all over the country. Six Cirque du Soleil stilt walkers will open the parade, livening things up and entertaining the crowd. Their gold, silver and bronze costumes were specially designed for the event, which pays tribute to Canada’s extraordinary performance in the Vancouver Games’ medal standing.
