Update on Dupere/Velle concerts

After we posted Part Two of our interview with Mr. Dupere, we got more info on the two concert appearances featuring his music with wife Elise Velle singing. If you’re in Quebec or nearby, take note!

Here’s the last section of the feature, revised with additional info.

CONCERT ALERT! Dupéré and Velle in concert:

During our interview, Mr. Dupéré mentioned an upcoming concert appearance! “In Québec our music has been played by two symphonic orchestras, with Élise singing. And there are two more [coming up]!”

“The next one is February 11th (Saturday, at 8pm). It’s an interesting way to bring our music to the people. We do some stuff from “Xotika,” one song from “Voyage,” and one song from “La Belle est Dans Ton Camp”. The rest of the music is from Cirque shows, including three pieces from KÀ: “Storm,” “Flight,” and “Shadowplay”.”

The website, at www.osslsj.com, fills us in on the song list: Saltimbanco, Passione, Éclipse, Querer, En Ville, KÀ finale: Fire/Eroe, Irna, Sortilegio, Le Belle Est Dans Ton Camp, Pinguoin, Enero, Barock, and Alegria. The Orchestre Symphonique Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean will be playing in the Théâtre du Palais Municipal (about 100 miles north of Québec City).

The second will be April 27 and 28, 2007 (you read that right, next year) in Québec City, with the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, playing in the Grand de Québec-Salle Louis-Fréchette. Set a calendar message to check out osq.qc.ca. Can’t say we didn’t warn you !
