The Patriot Ledger in Boston is running a story on Corteo, which runs from September 8th through October 8th at Suffolk Downs in East Boston. At the end of their article about the production they list a few facts, which we wish to share with you:
- Corteo is the first Cirque du Soleil show to be in the round with audience on both sides of the stage
- It is also the first show to have the musicians in the audience.
- Cirque du Soleil performers do their own hair and makeup.
- The most expensive Corteo costume design is the Grandiose Angel with each of the four costumes costing $35,000.
- The Grandiose Angel costume weighs about 50 pounds.
- The Grand Chapiteau – the tent – measures 165 feet in diameter and is supported by four 82-foot-high steel masts.
