Didyaknow? – On La Nouba’s 2000th Performance

La Nouba celebrated its 2000th performance on Friday, March 14, 2003 at 6:00pm. To celebrate, CirqueClub ran a few factoids, which I have dug up to continue our La Nouba facts theme:

  • Clowns Balthazar & Sergeï used over 13,200 helium-filled balloons.
  • The Power Track/ Trampoline artists jumped over 800,000 times, including over 370,000 summersaults.
  • The La Nouba cast went through 2600 costume pieces: more than one piece per show.
  • The little train used by the show’s imaginary frog traveled over 80 miles.
  • The Rigging department used over 4,800 feet of safety wire.
  • The Automation department was given a “go” over 240,000 times and initiated over 750,000 separate motor moves.
  • The Audio department used over 12,000 batteries.
  • The Lighting department used over 200 gallons of fog fluid, and has used over 16,320 feet of gel strings for scrollers.
  • Over 3,200 rolls of white tape were used in the physiotherapy room, and over 400 oz of hot muscle rub were applied to aching bodies!
  • Cycle artist Doug White dropped down on his bike for a total of almost 50,000 feet.
