A STUNNING, single-handed balancing performance gave Wang Junru, a 17-year-old girl from Wuhan, Hubei Province, victory in the fourth season finale of “China’s Got Talent” at the Mercedes-Benz Arena last night in Shanghai.
Wang, once a performer in Cirque Du Soleil’s “Dralion” show, is now a university student in Singapore. Despite hurting her legs during a rehearsal ahead of the final show, she amazed tens of thousands of people at the arena, the panel of judges and 101 media members from around the country with her superb skills and sweet smiles.
Wang received the most votes, beating Taiwanese yo-yo player Tuan Chih-min, who depicted the signs of 12 constellations with a yo-yo.
Wang said it was the support of the audience that strengthened her self-confidence and allowed her to come back to the acrobatics stage after a three-year retirement from Cirque Du Soleil.
