So What Does a Cirque Tech Director Think About?

Curiously enough, Ellen McCarthy, Staff Writer for the Washington Post, recently got a glimpse of what a Cirque du Soleil Technical Director thinks about and shared it in an article she wrote for the Post. An excerpt:

“Helium is surprisingly volatile. If there’s too much, she doesn’t come down. She’s gotten caught up there a few times,” Keith Freiter says, pointing to the rafters of a 66-foot-tall tent. And the Cirque du Soleil technical director doesn’t even want to talk about holes. It’s visions of the acrobat zipping above the audience on a burst balloon that haunt him in his corporate apartment bed at night.
