Didyaknow? – The Cirque Video Catalog

Didyaknow that Cirque du Soleil has released its product onto video for home consumption since its inception?

In the 1980’s, Cirque du Soleil’s television productions were overseen by Telemagik, an in-house production company, and released independently. Telemagik filmed and/or released the documentaries: “Quel Cirque”, “Saltimbanco’s Diary”, “Illusion of Truth: Alegria”, “Full Circle”, and “Baroque Odyssey, as well as the shows: “Le Magie Continue”, “Le Cirque Reinvente”, “Nouvelle Experience” and “Saltimbanco.”

With the filming of Cirque du Soleil: Quidam in Amsterdam a new partnership with Sony Home Entertainment was born (first through the Columbia/Tri-Star label, which re-released all of the Cirque’s catalog to DVD, but more recently with the general “Sony Home Entertainment” brand.

Each new release since Quidam’s filming is done through Cirque du Soleil’s new in-house production company: Cirque du Soleil Images (or CDSi for short). They have gone on to produce the filming of Cirque du Soleil visual interests since 1999.
